Baltimore

In what appears to be a recent quest to visit teams with losing record’s ballparks, I was at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Friday September 18th.  The Red Sox were in town for a three game set against the O’s.  Due to the large contingency of Red Sox fans in the audience it may as well have been a home game.   In what should have been a blow out, the Red Sox were unable to capitalize on some scoring opportunities. Despite the final score being 3-1 in favor of the Red Sox, the scoring margin should have been a lot wider.  The Sox left 10 men on base and had 11 hits.  Clay Buchholz continued to perform well for the Red Sox tossing 6 innings, allowing 5 hits, and only one earned run.  The lone run for the Orioles came on a solo home run by Luke Scott in the bottom of the 2nd inning.

Camden Yards

Now for the park.  Oriole Park at Camden Yards is one of the nicer parks in the Major Leagues.  Due to the fact that it is relatively new, as far as ballparks go (1992),  I’d give it an 7 out of 10 overall, but who’s counting.  Now if we’re going to continue this counting game, let me explain why I took off some points.  In the middle of the third inning I chose to go test out the food.  I could be one of those critics that complain the food price is to high, but come on, it’s a major league baseball park.  When you find a Major League Baseball stadium that you won’t break bank eating at please let me know.  Since it wasn’t the price of the food I deducted points for it was the attitude of the service workers at the food stand.  I feel bad saying it, but unfortunately one disgruntled employee is going to bring down the entire park.  But don’t let one bad egg ruin the bunch!  The one other thing I found interesting was that they closed some of the bathrooms at the end of the game. Does that make sense to you?  When everyone is leaving the game and needs to relieve themselves before the ride home they close the bathrooms?  I was in the upper deck and had to walk down to the bottom to use the over crowded restrooms.  To sum it up.  I’d go back to the park.  It is clean and well kept and overall a good fan experience!

Yea your right Javier one time I was really busting the gut after the game and the bathrooms were closed so I ended up having to pee in a bottle during the car ride home. It’s just unbelievable!
