Ozzie Guillen has been suspended for five games by the Marlins. He’s lucky they did not fire him. A lot of groups in Miami were calling for that, after Ozzie did what he usually does and ran off at the mouth by saying he admired Fidel Castro.
That was pretty stupid in a place were there are so many who ran away from Castro’s regime. The Marlins’ more than any other baseball team’ depend on the loyalty of the Latin fans.
Guillen tried to make it right by holding a press conference so he could apologize. He probably could of made things a lot better if he just said what he said at first. That he admired the fact that so many had tried to kill him, but Castro was still alive. He didn’t say that and now he is in hot water.
But the Marlins should of known this was what they were getting when they hired him. For eight years he did the same thing in Chicago. But in Miami they listen to what he has to say.
